As a Brit the 4th of July, Independence Day, celebrations are something we don’t celebrated. This year (2021) I am due to spend the 3rd of July with an American friend and her family for our children to hang out. Apparently playing is no longer done at the ripe old age of 10. I always like to take a little something particularly when the recipient will appreciate it. And so the 4th of July hanger otherwise and also known as Captain America’s shield was born.

Difficulty

Written in US terminology you will need to complete a single crochet (sc), chain, slip stitch and work in the round.

Yarn and notions

Double knitting yarn red, white and blue in small quantities - I’ve used double knitting yarn for this on a 4mm hook but you could make it in whatever yarn you wanted. I used Stylecraft Special Double Knit in Lipstick, Cream and Cornish Blue (which was the darkest blue I had to hand)
