The Cool Wool Curated Collection 2nd Edition

I am a member of the Cool Wool Community. A group of amazing yarn creators whether designers, testers, tech editors or yarn dyers we come together to share knowledge and improve our skills. Earlier this year the group decided we would put together a digital magazine to showcase the very best of our design and editing work. Here we are, October 2023 and the second edition is out today. It's not just a magazine with some beautiful patterns, it also contains articles, hints and tips and a whole load of added extras provided by the contributors. For example I'm giving a code so that if you purchase the download you can get my Christmas Crochet Blanket pattern absolutely free!

Cadgwith Jumper

Designed especially for the Cool Wool Curated Collection Edition 2 this is a revisit to my much loved (and worn) Cadgwith Cardigan. I have echoed the traditional Cornish Gansey stitch, the Lizard Lattice over the balloon sleeves. Depending on where fishermen worked would influence the stitch pattern used in their hand knitted indigo blue jumpers. Cadgwith is one of the few remaining fishing villages on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall. With stunning scenery cascading into the sea between high cliffs this jumper is the perfect solution when the autumnal and winter storms come rolling in. The jumper is knitted top down in one piece with sleeves divided off and knitted in the round. It is a comfortable fit with a wide folded neckline and balloon sleeves. Knitted in an Aran weight yarn the jumper will whiz up super quickly and be super cosy for the Winter ahead.

I used James C Brett Croftland Aran and was really pleased with the feel and finish. Designed to have a 6cm positive ease the pattern comes in nine sizes from 76cm / 30 inch to 154cm / 60.5 bust/chest measurement.
