Basket Weave Sock Pattern
Named after the stitch, this is my first venture into doing a different heel and continuing the pattern down further. The pattern creates a lovely soft fabric. I have used Stylecraft Head Over Heels sock yarn.
Difficulty
Knitted in the round these can be either knitted on double pointed needles using knit and purl stitches with decreases, colour changing yarn and a Kitchener stitch to finish the toe.
Yarn and Notions
4ply (fingering or sock weight) yarn 60 to 80 grams (I used 60 grams for a size 7)
Set of five 2.25mm (US 1) double pointed needles
Tapestry needle
Measuring tape
Two stitch markers (optional but helpful)
If you decide to knit these on a small circular needle you will also need an additional three stitch markers to mark the stitch count for each needle
