Overlay Crochet Biscornu Pincushion Pattern
A biscornu is a small, octagonal, stuffed ornamental pincushion. It is usually made out of Aida cloth or linen, sewn from two square sheets of cloth in such a way that each corner of one square is hemmed to the middle of a side of the opposite square. We’re going to make ours out of two crochet squares instead.
Difficulty
You will be working a variety of stitches around the post and in the front and back loops of previous rounds
Measurements
The finished biscornu is approximately 15cm /4.5 inches square
Yarn and Notions
Double knitting yarn (light worsted / 8 ply), 10g / 30 meters of each colour
3mm crochet hook
Needle for sewing up
Small amount of stuffing
You will receive instructions in both UK and US crochet terminology with a hand help sheet for where to place the various front loop, back loop and back post stitches.
