Bude Jumper Pattern
Bude to me has always been a seaside town on the North coast of Cornwall where I would visit a great Aunt and Uncle with my parents as a child. We would sit and drink tea from china cups and saucers and there would be crumbly rock cakes. The sea always seemed a long way from the start of the beach and it was always windy. Bude to me now is the source of the main pattern for this new design. It is a Cornish Gansey design particular to the fishermen of Bude.
Difficulty
Worked in pieces, back, front and sleeves using knit, purl and knitting stitches together to decrease the jumper is then sewn together with stitches picked up for the neckline that is finished with an i-cord cast off.
Yarn and Notions
Double knitting yarn (light worsted / 8 ply). For the sample shown in a size 5 I used Stylecraft ReCreate which is a wool, acrylic and polyester recycled yarn. Please check your meterage/yardage before completing purchase of your yarn if you are using something different.
